#MandelaDay2018 marks exactly 100 years since the birth of Nelson Mandela (18 July 1918). President Higgins has spoken of Nelson Mandela’s leadership and commitment to fighting poverty and promoting social justice, including most recently at the opening of an exhibition on the former South African President, in #Kilmainham Gaol. Titeann Lá Nelson Mandela na bliana seo ar chothrom an lae a rugadh #NelsonMandela 100 bliain ó shin (18 Iúil1918). Labhair an tUachtarán Ó hUigínn faoi cheannaireacht Nelson Mandela agus faoina dhíograis in éadain na bochtaineachta agus ar son chur chun cinn an chirt shóisialta, agus le gairid d’fhreastail sé ar oscailt taispeántais faoi Iar-Uachtarán na hAfraice Theas, i bPríosún Chill Mhaigneann. “Dear Lord, thank you for allowing us to be here all together celebrating Madiba’s life and legacy. Thank you for blessing us with a big family life, generous team and kids. Lord bless this school and kids, the people of this area and Ayama family….” These are some of the words of Michela’s pray opening Mandela’s Day at Alfons Primary yesterday, where all Ayama team worked hard all afternoon cleaning, fixing, gardening and painting. Elaine Brown Abrahams highlighted the same words in Afrikaans and Ilena Bambela in Xhosa. It was an amazing experience for everyone. Giving back to the community is one of the most heart-warming farm actions and Mandela’s Day is the special occasion which sees all of us together. Ayama team was wearing the special edition t-shirt sold by Nelson Mandela Foundation, raising funds for social projects making Mandela’s legacy living beyond borders. 220 kids all surrounded by Ayama team have been happy to take a phenomenal picture with us. Thanks to Nadine Aucamp, being the artist photographer of the day. Thanks to all participating to our Mandela’s Day 2018, it has been an honor and a privilege sharing this day with you. #mandeladay2018 #ayamawines #lovesouthafrica #ayamateam #voorpaardeberg #mandela100
