Nesta segunda-feira, 17, em Los Angeles, Califórnia, EUA, ocorreu a 70ª edição do Emmy Awards 2018 apresentado por Colin Jost e Michael Che. O evento ficou marcado não só pelas grandes e talvez inesperadas vitórias, como pelos discursos acerca do racismo, a falta de representatividade negra e a valorização do trabalho das mulheres. E também pelo surpreendente pedido de casamento em palco.

Apesar da temporada mais recente ter sido exibida já há mais de um ano, Game of Thrones, foi a série que levou o prémio principal da noite, “Melhor Série de Drama”, somando assim 47 estatuetas, um recorde absoluto nos Emmy, sendo das produções mais premiadas de sempre. Um dos pontos altos da noite, foi o facto da Amazon Prime Video, que é um novo serviço de streaming e das produções originais, mostrou o seu valor e qualidade, com a série original, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, que esteve nomeada na maior parte das categorias de comédia e arrecadou ainda os prémios de “Melhor Atriz”, “Melhor Direção” e “Melhor Guião”.
